This is an extremely rare hand-painted porcelain tankard stein/mug by Tressemann & Vogt (T&V). What makes it even more rare is that it is in virtually NEAR MINT condition. It has a beautiful hand-painted image of a monk enjoying a glass of wine from a wine barrel; the background color is aqua/blue. There is great detail in the painting, and you can even see the monk's crucifix. Marking: white ware mark "T & V FRANCE" in green on base signifying Mark 5a 1892-1907. Measurement: 5 1/2" tall, and is 3" across at the top.
