Gorgeous oil painting on canvas by the artist, H.A. Monsrud, Greenland, depicting a a beautiful sunrise seen by an Inuit/Eskimo woman, child and baby in her papoose. It is dated, however, I cannot make out the date as part is hidden under the frame (it appears to be 1962). Unique tri-colored frame that matches the painting. Measurements: 27.75" x 23.75" (70 cm x 60.75 cm) Back of frame says "Original Oil Painting, Product of Denmark .... Greenland" This is a wonderful painting, well executed with delightful colors of yellow and green. Obtained in 2004 from the estate of an elderly woman in British Columbia, Canada, who was a very well-travelled individual. She loved art which she often purchased in various countries during her lifetime. |
