Frigorifique, Legendary Ships of the Seas, D'Estrehan
Collector Plate named "The Frigorifique" by artist, Alan D'Estrehan and commissioned by Royal Cornwall Ltd. in 1981. 10th plate in D'Estrehan's "Legendary Ships of the Seas" series. 9 1/4" diameter. Mint condition with original plastic bag, box, information booklet and certificate of authenticity. Never displayed. Mr. D'Estrehan passed away in the late 1980's.

ABOUT THE SHIP:
The Frigorifique was a sturdy three-masted steamship built in 1870. On March 19, 1884, sailing back in thick fog off Deadman's Bay, The Frigorifique was accidently rammed by the Rumney, a British freighter. She sank within minutes after being abandoned by her crew.
