Tea set made in the mid-19th century circa 1865 by Haviland & Co, France. Pattern is called "Wedding Ring". Made during an era whereas teapot/sugar pot and creamer are larger than made today due to large families. In all white extremely high quality porcelain decorated with heavy gold, this set is truly magnificent. Included are 15 pieces of china, namely, the following: 1 tea pot 9 1/2 inches tall by 9 inches wide from spout to handle, with lid 1 large sugar bowl with lid 8 inches tall by 7 inches wide 1 creamer 5 1/4 inches tall by 5 inches wide 5 teacups 3 inches wide 5 saucers 5 1/2 inches wide
Condition: the teapot, sugar and creamer are in unbelieveable condition with no chips, no cracks or damage or gold loss. The tea cups and saucers are in superb condition with very little wear. Marking: Mark 5 (1865-1875): impressed initials H & Co by Haviland & Cie Beautiful Historical Set by Haviland Limoges well below market value listed in the Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges by Gaston. |
