$875 USD (King Louis XVI & Queen Marie-Antoinette)

Victorian Needlepoint Firescreen c1875-1900
The image of this needlepoint is most likely the last King of France, King Louis XVI and his wife, Queen Marie Antoinette, France in better times, sitting quietly in their private sitting room. In Marie Antoinette's short lifetime, it has been documented that she was an avid needlework admirer and enjoyed making them as well. The colors of the needlepoint work are vivid and not frayed or paled by common elements. It has been protected by a pane of glass which fits nicely into the stand edging. This stand also has marble-like wheels so that this firescreen can be rolled from one place to another when it was actually in use

The twisted column vertical supports look to be from walnut or mahogany which is indicative of North America in the late 1800's. The condition is great! Saw little or no wear from the last century.

Measurements: Needlework with stand measures 29" x 48" (without the stand 25" x 31")

Condition: Needlework is in unbelieveable condition seeing little or no wear at all, stand is also in excellent condition, no scratches or missing parts except a small decorative wood wheel (photo attached) on the back of the stand. This piece has been very well taken care.
